Salah satu manfaat membeli makanan organik adalah memberikan dampak positif bagi lingkungan, serta hewan dan manusia yang tinggal di sana. Lebih lanjut, menurut Algafry, Bimbingan Teknis agri bisnis Pengolahan Pupuk Organik merupakan solusi untuk mengembangkan sumber daya manusia yang mampu memproduksi pupuk organik guna mendorong pembangunan pertanian organik dalam jangka panjang. “Penggunaan pupuk organik dalam kegiatan teknis dan pertanian tidak dapat dipisahkan dari pengembangan pertanian organik.
Standar IFOAM, yang didirikan pada tahun 1980, adalah standar dasar untuk produk dan proses organik. Hormon tumbuhan dan aditif sintetis tidak boleh digunakan dalam pakan ternak.
